We had a wonderful Christmas party, we ate delicious food, played party games and then a very special surprise visitor popped in to see us. He brought us some wonderful gifts, for having such a great first term in F1 and F2.

Foundation have worked so hard and brought the story of Christmas to life so brilliantly. They learnt all of their lines and worked hard to sing their songs and do all of the actions. Foundation went on to perform in front of the whole school and then to their parents. Their speaking and listening was wonderful and everyone really enjoyed their performances.

We have really enjoyed decorating our Christmas Tree, everyone wanted to help. First of all we had to find and match the sounds to make sure the branches were in the correct order, then thread them into the correct slots. It was quite tricky!

We love imaginative play! Today we have worked together to build a castle with the large waffle bricks. The hurdles, which we normally jump over, made a fantastic roof, and then we took turns being the King and Queen in the castle whilst the other children were princesses and knights.

The F2 children have been working on adding two numbers together and then writing number sentences.

The F1 and F2 children all made Christingles then in the afternoon the F2 children, and some F1's who came back with their family, took part in the Christingle service. It looked stunning when they were all lit up.

'Clever fingers' (fine motor control) activities help us to strengthen our muscles and develop hand/eye synchronisation, which in turn will help our pencil control and handwriting skills.

On Friday 17th November the F2 children visited King's Park in Retford. We had a wonderful time exploring the amazing trees, plants and wildlife and even had time to have a play in the playground area. We saw ducks skimming on the river and even met 'Percy the Park Keeper'. He told us all about his job and how he keeps the park lovely for visitors and safe for the wildlife.
